Explore Pen-y-ghent, one of the Yorkshire Three Peaks

Many of our guests are choosing to explore the Yorkshire Three Peaks at a more leisurely pace, savouring the stunning landscapes without the pressure of completing all three in a single day. Breaking the challenge into manageable sections allows walkers to fully enjoy each peak, and it's becoming a popular trend among visitors.

One of the most loved options is to tackle Pen-y-ghent on its own. This iconic peak is ideal for a standalone adventure, whether you opt for a circular route from Horton-in-Ribblesdale or a point-to-point walk finishing near the Ribblehead Viaduct, conveniently located just past Ashes Farm.

For those looking to pace themselves further, some guests split the challenge into two days:

  • Day 1: Ascend Pen-y-ghent at a relaxed pace, taking time to soak in the views.

  • Day 2: Combine Whernside and Ingleborough, or tackle them individually for an even more relaxed experience.

This approach allows walkers to truly connect with the natural beauty of the Yorkshire Dales while avoiding the rush of completing all the Yorkshire Three Peaks in one go. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a beginner, the slower pace offers the chance to appreciate the journey as much as the destination.
