Accessibility Guide


General Information
Ashes Farm is committed to ensuring an appropriate accommodation service to welcome every guest. Due to the age and layout of the house, we lack facilities for guests with severe mobility limitations. We welcome any enquiries from guests with disabilities so we can discuss their needs and all reasonable attempts will be made to meet these.

  • The fire alarm is audible only

  • Emergency information can be communicated verbally on request

  • The nearest train station is at Ribblehead, 1 mile from Ashes Farm. Guest collection can be arranged

  • The nearest bus service is 2 miles from Ashes Farm. Guest collection can be arranged

  • A list of local taxis is available

  • Assistance with luggage is available

  • Rooms have remote TV control

  • Rooms have tea-making facilities with cordless kettles

  • Rooms have raised wall sockets as well as skirting level

  • Our breakfast menu and guest information can be communicated verbally on request

  • A variety of dietary requirements can be catered for with advance notification

  • People with nut allergies should be aware that we do use nuts in the kitchen

  • People allergic to dog fur should be aware that there are family pets on the premises

Access to the main house

  • Plenty of parking available with a limestone gravel surface

  • Access down from the car park is a very steep tarmac slope

  • Private access to the ground floor room is down 5 steps

  • Access to the private outdoor seating area is also down these 5 steps

  • Access has one step up to the ground floor room

  • The ground floor entrance and breakfast room are level throughout

 

Access to Ingleborough View Cottage 

  • Plenty of parking available with a limestone gravel surface

  • Access from the car park is up a set of steps or via small steps around the other side

  • Front door access is via a set of steps

  • The ground floor entrance and kitchen are level throughout 

  • Bedroom 1 is up a set of stairs

  • Bedroom 2 and bathroom are down 2 steps. 

 

Access to Lodge 1 – The Warren

  • Parking is available with a limestone gravel surface

  • Access from the car park is up a set of steps with a handrail

  • Front door access is a step over threshold

  • The ground floor only throughout 

 

Access to Lodge 2 – The Hive

  • Parking is available with a limestone gravel surface

  • Access from the car park is on the same level

  • Front door access is a step over threshold

  • The ground floor only throughout
